Some History of JoyfulGamingCo

I felt a pull years ago to start writing and posting online. But I was scared.

”Will people like what I have to say?” “Will I get random people yelling at me?” “Will people go out of their way to say horrible things about me?” “Will I end up doubting myself?” “What if people find out I’m actually stupid and I have nothing important to say?”

The above litany and more have haunted me for years. I wanted to avoid conflict and avoid people getting mad at me.

But that little nudge…just. wouldn’t. go. away. Pretty sure GOD wanted me to do something about it.

My amazing husband had faith in me, and he encouraged me to pursue what I felt I should do. So, I found a course online by the amazing Farmhouse on Boone (Y’all should totally check out her website because she’s awesome), and I started building this website.

I found blog design challenging, but rewarding. It’s not often that moms with young kids get to explore something unrelated to their kids. I enjoyed it. But it didn’t feel quite like it fit what I was trying to do. Part of that came from there being so much I didn’t how how to do. “Overwhelmed,” is the perfect way to describe that feeling.

Substack, on the other hand, feels like the perfect fit. I don’t have to handle all the blog design/marketing elements. So, I’m migrating everything over to my Substack.
